Do we wish for the same things Are we afraid of the changes I wanna go but I don’t wanna leave you here I wonder what the chances would be That if I go you’ll be there waiting And if I change my mind would you pick me up and take me home Are you here to stay I wish you’d tell me now So I can get all my things And stay for the day I don’t wanna move on Cause I just wanna believe in ghosts I wish she got the chance to meet you And see you in the way that we do Some pictures and some memories will have to show the way I'll take my time and tell her stories That you told me when I was her age I understand there always comes a time that we must go Are you here to stay I wish you’d tell me now So I can get all my things And stay for the day I don’t wanna move on Cause I just wanna believe in ghosts I don't wanna move on I don't wanna move on

Taking care of everyone around There is nothing left for us to do oh well Take a breathe and let it out Cause the voices wanna know If you love her go out and show her Cause your time is running out In a late night's cold surrender There'll be no one left around There is something missing in this town Is it the lights or the glam or you around Taking steps to find ourselves Cause we know there's nothing left If you love her go out and show her Cause your time is running out In a late night's cold surrender There'll be no one left around

about

‘Cafe Disco’ is the third release by indie rock duo Slacker Justice as well their first release in over two years. The band goes back to their roots with a more ‘Déjà Vu’-like sound while still incorporating fresh keyboards and synthesizers.

These songs were written at very different times. ‘If You Love Her’ was written during the winter of 2016 while ‘I Believe in Ghosts’ was written at the beginning of December 2018.

The band took a new approach to recording ‘Cafe Disco’, they didn’t visit a formal studio or have an outside producer come in. Just the two of them going from their parent’s basement to a dorm room to a friend’s basement using the knowledge and equipment they had.

The cover art was done by artist Michelle Berry.

The name ‘Cafe Disco’ comes from the band’s favourite show ‘The Office’.

about

Slacker Justice Pembroke, Ontario

Slacker Justice is a two piece indie-rock band from the cozy little town of Pembroke, Ontario.

Nearly 7 years ago Slacker Justice was formed and through many changes, it wasn't until January 2016 that they fell into their groove.

With a more simplified and melodic sound, Slacker Justice had begun writing many acoustic guitar and synth driven songs.
